Seafood Boil is an authentic Southern style recipe inherited from our family and friends.
3 bottles of beer / 1 bottle of white wine and/or 3 liters of water
4 tbsp. SPICE BLEND OF THE BAYOU
1 ½ kg Crawfish, live with heads
2 ½ kg Whole Crab, cleaned and broken into pieces
2 kg fresh shrimp, with skin and heads
8-10 ears fresh corn cobs
4-6 yellow / white onoins
8-10 Bay leaves
1 kg smoked Kielbasa sausage.
2 kg new potatoes
20 ml MANGO HABANERO / CAYENNE
Heat a very large pot of water. Add the SPICE BLEND OF THE BAYOU, bring to boil.
Peel and cut off ends of the onions and add them whole to the water. Add bayleaves.
Add the corn and new potato, both cut into halves and add to the boiling water and cook for 15 min.
Add the sausage, cut into 6 cm long pieces, cook for 5 min. Add the crab with the shell and cook for 7 min. Devein the shrimp, add to the boil with skin and head intact. Add the crawfish as well. Cook for another 5 min.
Drain off the water and pour everything onto a big bowl.
Serve with lemons, bread and butter.
And a dipping sauce from Mayonnaise and MANGO HABANERO / CAYENNE
The Hot tip:
You can add garlic and chili to the boil for an extra kick.
